About us

 The Appennino Aretino Local Action Group

The "Appennino Aretino" Local Action Group (LAG) is a public/private partnership. The main activity of the LAG is the  management and administration of LEADER development policies in Arezzo’s Province (Tuscany), activity started in 1997 with the Leader II European Inititive, continued with Leader Plus Initiative and nowadays run under the Axis 4 "Leader Approch" of the Rural Development Plan financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development .
In this context, in order to ensure a bottom-up approach the LAG has defined its own measures and specific goals based on the particular characteristics of the area. These have been set out in a development plan drawn up by the LAG itself.

The LAG encourages and supports projects that address locally identified needs and it is sensitive to community diversity. It is a dynamic regional economic development agency that is concerned with the causes and consequences of social, environmental and economic changes in rural areas and the effective influence of rural individuals, businesses, and communities.
